Nautical Stripes: Summer Weekends

Hi Gorgeous!!!

For those of us who work 40 hour week jobs, the weekends are something we cherish because it's over before we even know it. Fortunately for me, this past week has gone by so quickly. Perhaps it's because I've had the pleasure of coming home to my sister being there, but she leaves tomorrow morning to see her boyfriend. (Can't you just stay Lauren?!)

Since the weekend is here, we all want to cherish every moment, I decided to share my essentials to having a great summer weekend. But first, let's drink!

Ace Cocktail

Ingredients:

Honey Syrup

1 Cup of Bourbon

1/2 Cup of Fresh Lemon Juice

2 Teaspoons of Mint Leaves

4 Sprigs of Fresh Mint

Directions:

Honey Syrup

1. In a small sauce pan, heat 2/3 cup of honey with 1/3 cup of water until it comes to just simmer

2. Cool completely!

Cocktail

1. Place 1 Large Ice Cube in 4 Rocks Glasses

2. Combine the Bourbon, Lemon Juice, Cut up Mint Leaves, and 1/2 Cup of Honey Syrup in shaker

3. Add ice and then Shake

4. Strain the Cocktail into the 4 Rocks Glasses

5. Garnish with Mint Sprigs

6. Clink and Drink

Dresses

For me, a great weekend is when I can just wear what I wore during the day, out on the town in the evening. Here are some great summer dresses that can be dressed casually for errands and then dressed up for cocktails and dinner.

This Lilly Pulitzer dress is not only a great color but would look adorable with sandals during the day. For the night, I would throw on some high wedges, bangles, and makeup.

This dress is currently on sale and would be a great transitional piece from day to night.

Vineyard Vines Dress on sale at Nordstrom! This dress would be so cute with some great sneakers and hair tied up for during the day. For night, I would add wedges and beach curl my hair.

This Boden dress is so cute! I would pair this with Jack Rogers for the day and night. Just add some jewelry and style my hair differently for cocktails and dinner.

Clutches

I always love to ditch the big bag after a long week at work. I usually carry my large Lands End floral bag or my normal sized shoulder Kate Spade bag. However, on weekends I prefer to ditch the large bag and large wallet and downgrade to a cute clutch and small wallet.

This fluffy clutch is soooo sex and the city/ Carrie Bradshaw. Although it's paired with an evening gown in this picture, I would totally pair mine with designer jeans and a dress tank for a night out on the town- or a summer sundress.
