Daily Beauty Routine

I thought I would share my daily beauty routine on this Monday morning! Anytime I do someone's hair or makeup, I receive a lot of compliments. I love doing make up and hair! Here are the products I use almost everyday and the steps on how I get my look:

Lotion:

• I am obsessed with keeping my body and face soft and moisturized. It keeps wrinkles at bay and keeps your skin nice and healthy. I use several different lotions. 
• Face lotion: Every morning right when I wake up and every night before bed I put on a little dab of Aveda's all sensitive moisturizer. I went with the all sensitive because when I used to use Bath and Body lotions/body-wash I would break out from the fragrance and ingredients. All of Aveda's products are made from natural ingredients and are sensitive to the skin.   
• For my body I use Lubiderm Fragrance free lotion for normal to dry skin. I apply this generously at least twice a day. 
• For my  hands during the day I go to a local business called Kind. The lotion I use is called SheaLuxe Body Creme. Kind usually is made from mostly organic products. 

Make up: 

• Instead of using a foundation which actually has been found to clog your pores, I use a tinted moisturizer from Bobbi Brown. I start by adding a small amount of this to my face every morning. (The bottle has lasted me over a year now!) 
• Then I brush on my bronzing powder which is also by Bobbi Brown. To apply this, I made the leap and purchased a really good brush from Aveda. It is so soft, you wouldn't believe it! I highly recommend everyone buying good quality makeup brushes. 
• I then apply my eye-shadow which is done in two parts. I first apply Clinique darker brown eye-shadow to my eye lids. Then I go back over it partially with Aveda's lighter colored eye-shadow to create a nice blend. 
• Then it's time for some eyeliner. I use Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner everyday of the week. It took me awhile to find a brand and type I really liked but now I would never go back. The color I use is black because I like a more extreme look, but the dark brown looks really nice as well!
• For mascara, I use two types. The first application is Bobbi Brown's Smokey Eye mascara. Then I go back over it with Bobbi Brown's Extreme Party mascara which gives my lashes a darker and longer look. 
• I then add lipstick, which is also by Bobbi Brown. Here are my favorite colors: Mandarin, Pink Nude, Warm Beige, Hot and True Pink. 

Hair/Body:

• I am one of those people who don't function very well in the morning so the time I have I would prefer drinking coffee than rushing through a shower. Therefore I shower every night before bed. I have been doing it that way for a long time, and now I buy things like shower steamers that have the scent of lavender to help calm me down for bed. 
• In the shower I use mostly Aveda products:
• For the hair I use the Rosemary shampoo and conditioner. I will never regret switching over to Aveda for my hair care 4 years ago. It has made my hair way healthier than it ever was, and everyone always compliments me on how soft and shiny it is. I buy the large bottles: the shampoo lasts about a year and conditioner lasts from 6-8 months. (Challenge: Next time you purchase your shampoo/conditioner look at the ingredient label. If it isn't mostly plant based, it's not going to be gentle on you hair!) 
• Washing my face, I use Aveda's Botanical Kinetics Purifying Gel Cleanser. I love this face wash and literally will never purchase something else!
• For my body wash I use Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Fragrance Free Body Wash. I have been using this wash for about a week now and it's working pretty well for me. I usually use a organic body wash from Kind Soap Company but recently ran out. 
• After the shower, I apply a small amount of Aveda's Light Elements Smoothing Fluid. I love this stuff. I apply a little after a shower brush through and a little in the morning before I straighten my hair. It helps keep my hair soft and protected from the heat and keep it shiny throughout the day. This bottle will last me about a year and a half.
