Hi Gorgeous!!!
Sorry I didn't get to posting yesterday, ended up being a very busy weekend(Also sorry I hit save instead of publish on Monday!). Ian and his sailing team ended up coming 7th place out of 12 boats. The competition was very high this weekend with a few world champions and many other great sailors. Saturday they raced two races in the morning before the rain came in. Then Vivian (my new friend) made everyone mojitos. I didn't get to arrive until 4:30pm, the fun (drinking) began around 2:30pm. So needless to say, everyone was feeling good when I arrived. Vivian made me a mojito right away and let me just say that these drinks were definitely a work of art. The mojitos had ginger, lemongrass, mint, tonic water, and rum of course. I was nervous at first because I am not the biggest fan of ginger, but I really enjoyed these drinks. Vivian also brought ginger candy to share and that was as well really good!
Soon after enjoying a cocktail, we were off to the dinner. The dinner turned out to be a total disaster, with the waitresses not really knowing what was going on, but we all managed to have a good time anyway. After dinner, a few of us went out for drinks at a local dive bar. Where the locals weren't very friendly and the drinks were cheap. After a couple rounds of drinks and a few games of pool, we left that dive bar and decided to go to a more "hip" bar. Here we felt more at home and those around us were more our age.
After a fun and late night (probably one too many drinks as well), we woke up and went back to the club. The sailors headed out and were able to get in four races before the 1pm cut off. The wind was great, the sun was out, honestly it was just a beautiful day. Courtney, a mom at the lake, and I took the kids we were watching for a picnic. It was a little windy but I think all the kids had a great time. After the racing was over and the boats were put away, Ian presented the awards. Followed by drinking on the parking lot and watching Henry skateboard. Definitely a great first weekend back at the lake.
Now for some fashion. Here is my outfit of the day. As always links below.
Have you noticed that I love this bag? I think it makes it way into most my blogs so far. It's honestly a great bag that can carry everything you would need. This past weekend I definitely made use of it's capacity and it minimized how many bags I had to bring.
The shoes I wore today are my favorite tennis shoes. The brand name is superga and they are great! They have the same look as a converse, but without the white toe band. So comfortable and great for a long day of walking around town.
Have you had a mojito with ginger and lemongrass in it? If so, comment below. Also let me know what your favorite kind of mojito is. Look for my post tomorrow!
XOXO-Mandie
